Public Access for Anne Arundel County Court Records
Maryland public access has two tracks. Court case files are governed by Maryland court-record access rules and the judiciary's access pages. County executive-agency records, such as sheriff administrative records, detention records, and police records, use the county Public Information Request process and the Maryland Public Information Act. Maryland General Provisions section 4-201 gives a person the right to inspect public records unless an exemption applies, but that rule does not override court-specific limits.

Restricted Anne Arundel County Court Records
Not every Anne Arundel County court record appears online. Juvenile records are restricted under Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings section 3-8A-27. Expungement may remove qualifying criminal records from public access under Maryland Criminal Procedure section 10-105. Adoption records, mental health matters, Social Security numbers, protected addresses, minor names, and financial account numbers are also restricted or redacted.
Maryland Courts warns that some criminal information no longer appears online even when it may still be available at the courthouse. This can include certain charges that ended in nolle prosequi, dismissal, acquittal, not guilty, older stet status, and some sole cannabis possession charges disposed before the state cutoff date. Absence from Case Search does not prove no record ever existed.
